Notice to Current and Prospective Students: Council on Occupational Education Probation Status

Tonsorial Arts Barber College wants you to have clear information about our accreditation status with the Council on Occupational Education (COE).

Effective September 11, 2026, COE placed the school on Probation related to Standard 7 (financial composite score). The school’s reported composite score was 0.900, which is below COE’s 1.5 threshold for that standard.

What this means for you:

  • The school remains open and continues to operate and serve students.
  • This notice concerns COE accreditation status only. It is not a notice that the school is closing.
  • On October 21, 2026, the school submitted to COE the plans and financial materials required by the Commission's September 16, 2026 letter. The school remains on Probation and continues to work with COE to resolve the Commission's concerns by the compliance deadline of August 18, 2027.
  • Your education and student services continue while we complete those requirements.

If you have questions about this disclosure or about your enrollment, please contact Charles House, CEO, at ceo@tonsorialartsbarbercollege.com or 903-255-7003.
